Weekly ad budget check: move spend to what's working, after you approve
The Bot pulls spend and results from each ad channel, compares them with your monthly budget, and sends a recommended reallocation. Nothing changes in your ad accounts until you approve.
What the Bot is set up to do
- Connect your ad accounts, such as Meta and Google Ads, or give it a weekly export, plus your store or CRM for revenue.
- Set the monthly budget and the one number you judge ads by: cost per order, cost per lead, or return on ad spend.
- Add a weekly routine. Budget changes stay behind an approval card; don't set Always allow for them.
Prompt
Every Monday, pull last week's and month-to-date spend and results for each channel and campaign in [Meta Ads, Google Ads, other].
Match revenue or leads from [Shopify / CRM] where you can, and tell me where you couldn't.
My monthly budget is $[amount]. My target is [cost per order / cost per lead / return on ad spend] of [number].
Send me:
1. A table per campaign: spend, results, cost per result, and the target, with the arithmetic shown
2. Month-to-date spend against the budget, and projected month-end spend at the current daily rate (month-to-date spend ÷ days so far × days in the month)
3. A recommended reallocation within the budget: what to cut, what to raise, by how much, and why
Hold every change for my approval. Never raise total spend above the budget.
Before you run it
- Ad platforms count conversions generously. Treat the recommendation as a starting point and check it against real orders or booked jobs.
Business fit
Who this helps, and how:
- Shopify & ecommerceStores running Meta and Google ads get a weekly check of cost per order against budget.
- Local & serviceService businesses buying leads see which channel actually produces booked jobs.
- AgenciesAgencies get a draft reallocation memo for each client before the weekly call.
- StartupsFounders running their own ads avoid month-end overspend.
How to adapt it
If attribution is messy, ask it to put platform-reported results next to orders in Shopify and show both.
Add a floor: "Never cut a campaign below $[x] a day."
Run it daily during a launch or sale, and weekly the rest of the time.
