Overnight competitor watch that only reports real changes
The Bot checks competitors' sites, pricing pages and X posts overnight, and sends a short note only when something meaningful changes, with what it suggests you do about it.
What the Bot is set up to do
- List up to 10 competitors with their site, pricing page and X account.
- Bots can search X and read posts and profiles without you connecting an X account (October 11, 2026).
- Add a nightly routine. It reports only.
Prompt
Every night, check these competitors: [name: site, pricing page, X account] for each.
Report only meaningful changes since your last check:
- New products, features or services
- Price or plan changes (show old and new)
- New offers, guarantees or positioning on their homepage
- Their X posts about launches that drew unusual engagement
For each change: what changed, a link, and one suggestion for us, or "no action".
If nothing meaningful changed, send nothing.
Keep a running log in [Notion page / Google Doc] so you can compare week to week.
Business fit
Who this helps, and how:
- Shopify & ecommerceStores see competitor price changes and promotions before they affect sales.
- Local & serviceLocal businesses notice new offers from competitors in their area.
- StartupsFounders hear about competitor launches the next morning without watching X all day.
- AgenciesAgencies keep a competitor log for each client to bring to monthly reviews.
How to adapt it
For local competitors, add their Google Business Profiles: rating, review count and new photos.
Run it weekly if your market moves slowly; nightly checks of quiet sites mostly return nothing.
Once a month, add: "Audit our site for messaging that now looks dated next to theirs."
