Make a product animation with Claude, step by step
Write a precise brief with timings and banned clichés, have Claude build it in code, check frames by number, and add sound last.
Explain it simply
Claude can write the code that draws an animation instead of drawing it directly, so every frame can be checked and fixed. Expect a couple of hours and many small rounds of changes, not one perfect prompt.
What you need
- Access to Claude (the source used Claude Opus 5.5).
- One sentence on what the viewer should feel or understand.
- A browser to play the HTML file Claude produces.
Steps
Write the brief with timings and bans
Give exact timings in seconds and list the clichés you never want. Vague prompts come back full of them.
PromptWritten by our editors from the sources Make a 6-second seamless loop, 1080x1080 at 60 fps, as a single HTML file using three.js [pin the version]. Goal: [one sentence on what the viewer should feel or understand]. Timeline: 0–1.0s [action]; 1.0–2.5s [action]; 2.5–6.0s [action]. Use easing [cubic-bezier(0.22, 1, 0.36, 1)], a 60 ms stagger, and anticipation before every big move. Ban: dark space backgrounds, glowing rings, bloom, floating particles and made-up taglines.Have it check its own frames
Ask Claude to render specific frames, such as 0, 30 and 60, and compare every transition with your timings before fixing anything.
Give feedback by frame number
Point at frames, not feelings, for example: the bump appears at frame 85; remove it. Precise notes get precise fixes.
Add sound last
Ask for the sound in one prompt keyed to frame numbers. Claude can't hear, so check the mix yourself, including on a phone speaker.
Budget for iteration
In the source's tests, each piece took roughly 90 minutes to 2 hours of picture work plus 45 to 90 minutes of sound, with up to 15 rounds of follow-ups.
How to know it worked
- Every transition lands on the frame you specified.
- The loop has no visible jump and no audio click at the seam.
Watch-outs
- Early sound mixes in the source landed hits late and put energy where phone speakers play nothing.
