A Creator Cut LinkedIn Carousel Time From 2.5 Hours to Under 5 Minutes

After two approaches failed, a newsletter writer built a Claude Skill that turns a newsletter section into an on-brand 6–10 slide LinkedIn carousel in under five minutes; making one by hand took about 2.5 hours of writing and Canva work.

Explain it simply

A carousel is a post made of several slides people swipe through, and each one used to take this newsletter writer about two and a half hours. The writer made a Claude Skill, a saved set of instructions Claude can reuse, that remembers the brand's colors, fonts, logo and photo and builds the slides from a piece of the newsletter. Now a carousel takes under five minutes and looks the same every time.

What was done

Carousels took about an hour to write, an hour in Canva and 30 minutes fixing alignment, so the writer, Wyndo, kept avoiding them. A PowerPoint skill was fast but looked plain. AI image generation looked great but could not keep slides consistent or reproduce the writer's face in the footer.

The approach that worked is a Claude Skill that stores the brand settings once (colors, fonts, logo, real photo, positioning) and generates the carousel as HTML and CSS, which renders the same way every time.

How it went

Wyndo now gets 6–10 slides in under 5 minutes with one instruction, still in the same voice and on brand, and has posted on LinkedIn five times a week for three months.

  • Limits: getting there took two failed approaches and weeks of iteration. Exporting is still manual (download slides, convert to PDF, upload). The packaged skill is for paid members, but the post includes a free manual version that takes 15–30 minutes the first time.

Step 1, once:
"I make LinkedIn carousels as HTML and CSS slides. Save these as my carousel brand rules: main color [hex], second color [hex], heading font [font, size], body font [font, size], logo [attach], my photo for the footer [attach]."

Step 2, for each carousel:
"Using my carousel brand rules, turn this text into a [6]-slide carousel: [paste a newsletter section]. Slide 1 is the hook, each middle slide carries one idea, and the last slide asks people to [follow / subscribe]. Give me HTML and CSS files I can export as images or a PDF."

Adapted from the free manual version in the article. The packaged skill is for paid members.
