Explain it simply
Every month, a small marketing agency has to tell each client how their website and ads did. Instead of writing each report by hand, the team gives Claude, an AI chatbot, the numbers along with the client's goals, and it writes a first draft in plain English. The team adds its own comments, so each report takes about 10 minutes instead of 45.
What was done
Each month the team exports data from Google Analytics, Search Console and Ads and gives it to Claude with a prompt template that includes the client's goals and last month's benchmarks. Claude returns a structured report with insights, recommendations and plain-English explanations, and the team adds its own commentary.
ChatGPT handles large CSV exports and ad copy variations, and Canva AI resizes one design for every social format using each client's brand kit.
How it went
Client reports went from 45 to 10 minutes per client. A 1,500-word blog post takes about 90 minutes instead of 4–5 hours, and ad copy for a full campaign about 15 minutes instead of an hour.
- The founder estimates Claude saves 4–5 hours a week, ChatGPT 2–3 and Canva 2–3. Those add up to 8–11 hours; the post calls it 10+.
- The time figures are the founder's own estimates, published on the agency's course site, which sells an AI course based on these workflows.
- People keep research, fact-checking, strategy and client relationships, every draft is edited, and the post warns against putting sensitive client data into AI tools.
Prompt
"You are preparing the monthly marketing report for [client].
Client goals: [goals]. Last month's benchmarks: [numbers].
Attached: Google Analytics, Search Console and Ads exports for [month].
Write a structured report: 1) headline results vs goals and last month,
2) what changed and why (plain English), 3) top 3 recommendations,
4) anything that needs the client's input. Don't invent numbers; if data is
missing, say so."
Then: review, add your own commentary, send.
Our version; the post describes its template but doesn't publish it.
