Explain it simply
A home-services owner connected an AI bot to his business phone. After each call it writes a short summary in the team's Slack chat (a messaging app for work), tags the right people and adds tasks to the to-do list. Nobody has to take notes during calls anymore.
What was done
The owner connected Grok Bot to his phone system so it listens to calls, posts a summary to the team Slack channel, tags the right people and adds items to the to-do list. He also had it scan his town's subreddit daily for posts from possible customers and tag him on the ones worth answering. It also turned his weekly goals into a Notion to-do page, created calendar appointments and rewrote his follow-up scripts.
How it went
The call summaries replaced a feature he had been paying for, so he could downgrade his phone subscription and save $250. He described the overall result as "wild" and said he was just getting started.
- Limits: this is a single self-reported post written a day after setup, so there is no long-term data on summary accuracy or how many Reddit leads turned into jobs. Recording and transcribing calls may require telling callers, depending on your state or country, so check the consent rules first.
Prompt
"Listen to every call on our business line. After each call, post a short
summary to #calls in Slack: caller, what they need, address if given, and
next step. Tag the team member responsible and add the next step to our
to-do list.
Every day, scan r/[yourtown] for posts asking for [your service] and tag
me on any I should reply to."
Our version; no exact prompt was shared. Check call-recording consent rules first.
