Turn on AI invoice reminders and stop chasing late payers by hand
Intuit says customers get paid 4 days faster on average when Payments AI sends invoice reminders. The product page names no business and gives no method beyond that aggregate.

Explain it simply
QuickBooks Online is accounting software many small businesses already use to send invoices. Payments AI watches open invoices, drafts a reminder from the invoice details, and sends it on a schedule you choose. Intuit's claim is an average across customers, not a result from one named business. You can also send plain reminders without the AI.
How do you get customers to pay invoices faster with AI?
Turn on automatic reminders in your invoicing tool and let its AI write each one from the invoice details, so late payers hear from you on schedule without you typing. QuickBooks says customers using Payments AI reminders "get paid 4 days faster on average" (Intuit product page, read Oct 2026; no named business).
| Workflow / use case | Primary AI role / tool slot | Input data | Expected business output / time saved |
|---|---|---|---|
| Chasing unpaid invoices | QuickBooks Online Payments AI | Open invoices, due dates, customer emails | Reminders drafted and sent; "4 days faster on average" (Intuit aggregate) |
How does this differ from other ways to do this job?
This is the no-setup route: if you already invoice in QuickBooks, reminders live where the invoices are. The Grok Bot prompt for overdue invoice follow-ups suits owners who invoice in several places or want to approve every message. Plain QuickBooks reminders without AI are also available.
What was done
Intuit's Payments AI product page says you get paid faster when the assistant sends invoice reminders. The line to use is the current one: 4 days faster on average.
An older Intuit page said 5 days sooner, from a January to August 2024 beta. This page does not mix that older figure in.
The product page names no business. Treat "4 days faster" as Intuit's aggregate, not as a promise for your customers.
Intuit's help article, updated Oct 5, 2026, also shows reminders you set up yourself, including through Intuit Intelligence chat. The AI path drafts the words. The plain path sends a reminder you wrote.
How it went
There is no named customer in the source. The only result Intuit states on the product page we used is the average.
- Intuit's line is: "Get paid 4 days faster on average when you send invoice reminders with Payments AI."
- If you want to approve every note yourself, use a draft prompt instead of auto-send.
Prompt
- Context / Role
You are a small-business owner who sends invoices and loses time chasing late payments.
- The copy-paste prompt
PromptWritten by our editors from the source Write a 3-step invoice reminder sequence for [BUSINESS_NAME]. We [WHAT_WE_DO] and our payment terms are [PAYMENT_TERMS]. Tone: [TONE]. Payment link placeholder: [PAYMENT_LINK]. Step 1: 3 days before the due date (friendly heads-up). Step 2: 3 days after the due date (polite, assumes it slipped through). Step 3: 14 days after the due date (firm, names the late fee policy: [LATE_FEE_POLICY]). For each: subject line under 50 characters, body under 90 words, invoice number and amount as placeholders, one clear action. No guilt-tripping, no threats, no legal language. After step 3, write one line telling me to call the customer myself.- Variables to customize

- Keep a person on disputes, partial payments, and customers you know are in trouble.
- If you want to approve every email, draft the sequence with the prompt and send it yourself.

Who this helps, and how:
Cleaning company billing monthly: send the same reminder sequence on each open invoice without typing it again.
Local & serviceAgency on retainers: nudge late retainers from the invoice record instead of a separate spreadsheet.
AgenciesContractor with progress invoices: remind on each draw date, then call after the third note.
