Explain it simply

Manus is an AI helper the seller treats like a junior assistant for websites, labels, and old website code. He can send a screenshot of a new customer review and have it added to the site, or ask for label ideas. It saves him time on everyday tasks, but he still checks print files carefully because those came out wrong.

What was done

A seller who "wears a lot of hats" used Manus for a month as an all-purpose assistant. He had it design product labels for a new product, build and update his websites, and troubleshoot old PHP code on a partner's site.

Website upkeep became simple. When a new testimonial comes in, he sends Manus a screenshot and it adds the testimonial to the site.

How it went

He built and launched 7 websites and fixed PHP code other developers wrote 10 years earlier. He says Manus "saved me a ton of time" and costs a fraction of what the same labor would.

  • The weak spot was print production. The label renderings looked great, but the converted print-ready file was far from usable. Repeated attempts burned credits, and he traced over the rendering to make his own file. When he later showed Manus his file, it worked out what had gone wrong.
  • He notes the credit model pushes you to upgrade: the only way to get more credits right away is a higher plan.

Prompt

PromptWritten by our editors from the source
You are my website and design assistant for [business name].

1. Website update: here is a screenshot of a new customer testimonial. Add it to the testimonials section of [site URL], matching the existing style. Show me a preview before publishing.

2. Label concept: design 3 label concepts for [product], size [W x H] in, brand colors [hex codes], required text: [list]. Deliver mockups only. Do NOT produce a print file.

3. When I approve a concept, list exactly what a print-ready file needs (bleed, CMYK, resolution, dielines, fonts outlined) so I can hand it to my designer or printer.

Our version; the post doesn't share prompts.

Business fit

Who this helps, and how:

  • E-commerce sellers: hand off site edits, testimonial updates and first-draft label concepts, and have a printer check final artwork.

    Shopify & ecommerce
  • Retail store owners: keep the store website current by sending screenshots of new reviews, events or hours.

    Local & service
  • Mechanics and tradespeople: have an agent diagnose and patch an old website, tested on a copy first.

    Local & service
  • Independent consultants: spin up a simple site per service or offer and update it by message.

    Agencies
  • Startup founders: use it for quick landing pages and fixes to legacy code while you focus on the product.
