A Video Creator Hands Transcripts, Blog Drafts and Promo Posts to Claude

A creator whose videos took 3–4 hours each to publish built a pipeline in Claude's desktop app that turns one recording into a transcript, titles, a blog post, a thumbnail draft and social posts, aiming for about an hour per video.

Explain it simply

After he films a short video, Claude's desktop helper transcribes it on his computer and proposes titles. Then it drafts a blog post in his style and promo posts for social sites, while he approves the important choices. One recording becomes several finished pieces without starting each from a blank page.

What was done

He records a 10–20 minute video and drops it in an inbox folder. Claude creates a dated project folder, transcribes the video locally, and proposes YouTube and blog titles and descriptions for his approval.

It then drafts a blog post from the transcript using his style guide and opens it as a pull request with a preview.

It also makes a thumbnail from his Figma template, uploads the video, and writes promo posts for each platform. He approves or gives voice-note feedback at every step.

How it went

The target is about one hour per video, down from 3–4 hours. He has run it a few times and says every run still needs small fixes to the system, so it is still taking more than an hour. He has not proven the goal yet.

  • Limits: this is an early, in-progress result. The pipeline depends on his own repository, style guide and templates, and he deliberately reviews every phase to keep the voice his own.

1. When a video lands in /inbox, create a slug and dated folder and move it in.
2. Transcribe locally with Whisper.
3. Propose a YouTube title + description and a blog title + description and summary. Wait for my approval.
4. Draft the blog post from the transcript using style-guide.md. Open a pull request so I can review the deploy preview. Iterate on my feedback.
5. Draft a thumbnail from my Figma template; after I approve it, upload the video with title, description and thumbnail.
6. Write promo drafts for X, Bluesky and LinkedIn in a Markdown file: one set for the video (post now) and one for the blog (next business day). Post or schedule only after I approve.

Adapted from the six phases the post describes.

Business fit

Who this helps, and how:

  • Content creators: turn each recording into a blog post and a week of platform-specific promo posts without a team.

    Creators
  • Independent contractors (barbers, bartenders, consultants): a consultant can record one short talk a week and have it become a newsletter article and LinkedIn posts.

    Agencies
  • Agencies and freelancers: offer "record once, publish everywhere" as a client service with approval gates built in.

    Agencies
  • Medical and health professional business owners: turn short patient-education videos into blog articles for the practice website, reviewed before publishing.

    Local & service
  • Startup founders and e-commerce sellers: convert product demo recordings into help articles and launch posts.
